Automated Business Solutions (Xactec) began in 1991 focusing on implementation and maintenance of IBM midrange computers and related software.
We began providing PC support in the later part of the 1990’s to support the trend toward using PCs as midrange terminals. The PC developed a following of its own and our PC and computer networking business and related consulting was born.
Concurrent with our increasing focus on computers and computer networking we began delivering cabled, wireless, and fiber optic based networking solutions.
The growing popularity of IP telephones and their close integration with computer networks made them a natural fit in our suite of technical solutions for small businesses. In 2005 we added telephones (IP and digital) to our list of solutions for small business.
As the need for quality voice, video, and data cabling in new construction increased in early 2006 we responded. We secured our Virginia Class A Contractor’s license (ESC/FAS) with departments dedicated to cabling (copper and fiber optics), wireless, telephones, audio visual, and fire alarms. We have also been awarded a Virginia Private Security Services Business license.
We are positioned solidly in the Williamsburg and Southeastern Virginia community with customers from Richmond to the Atlantic. As the region grows and you grow, we will be here to help.
Our Senior Team
Marv Evans, President Over 30 years of diverse technology hands-on and leadership experience including the U.S. Coast Guard (retired), Virginia government, and a $300M construction company. Complementing his experience, Marv holds two undergraduate degrees and two graduate degrees (Computer Science and Management).
Deno Plumley, Operations Manager Has held the position of Computing Manager and is highly experienced in networking, servers, and the technical understanding needed to ensure cable, wireless, and fiber solutions are ideally matched to their intended applications. He joined the company in 1998 and brings a wealth of experience to each project that enables him to solve the most challenging task with the confidence that experience earns.
Chris Glennon, Sales Manager Has held several diverse positions in small and large technical organizations. Chris is a U.S. Army combat veteran and brings over 10 years combined experience as a commercial field technician and construction manager. Working for two large telecommunications companies Chris discovered his passion is resolving customer technical needs with the appropriate technology. He leads our customer advocacy team with an understanding of technology and a passion for cost-effective solutions.
Kim Early, Office Manager Has several years experience ensuring smooth office operations. She is frequently the first person you will encounter and is skilled at ensuring we accept ownership of the issue and communicate well. Kim helps ensure customers remain our first priority and we do not become too "techie" in our communications.
Our leadership team meets regularly, usually weekly. We review current issues challenging each other to deliver friendly and competent strategic consulting, cabling, wireless, fiber optics, telephone, video, audio, computer, network, security, and Internet solutions to business owners that prefer to focus on their business rather then their technology.
